Lauren Binger focuses her practice on water, utility, and administrative law, advising public and private clients in regulatory, transactional, and general counsel matters.
Lauren has experience representing water and wastewater utilities before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC), and the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH). Her practice has included matters involving certificates of convenience and necessity (CCNs), district creation and protests, wholesale and retail rate appeals, STM applications, and other utility regulatory proceedings.
In addition, Lauren has served as general counsel to utility districts, advising boards on governance, the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Texas Public Information Act, board elections, bond applications, and day-to-day operational matters. She also has experience drafting and negotiating utility service agreements and other commercial contracts.
Prior to joining Bickerstaff, Lauren was an attorney at a private practice in Austin, where she was a member of the water and utility practice groups. Her experience also includes in-house corporate work and litigation.
