Overview

Canon Hill focuses his practice on litigation, administrative law, and appellate matters. Prior to joining Bickerstaff, he served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Administrative Law Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, where he represented state agencies and officials in litigation involving administrative, constitutional, and public law issues.

His work at the Attorney General’s Office included proceedings before state and federal courts and the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH), with experience in Texas Public Information Act litigation, administrative enforcement actions, constitutional issues, injunctive relief, and appeals. He also served as first-chair counsel in administrative and trial proceedings, handled appeals before Texas appellate courts, and represented agencies in matters involving public information, regulatory enforcement, and other issues affecting state government.

While attending law school, Canon was a law clerk for the Texas Public Policy Foundation and served as an in-house counsel extern in the trust department of a community bank. He was also a finalist in the E. Earle Zehmer National Workers’ Compensation Moot Court Competition.
